The Rules
- Sip — The film appears to end but then continues — drink at each of the five fake endings
- Sip — Sam carries Frodo up Mount Doom and delivers a speech about the Shire and hope
- Sip — Pippin sings 'Home is Behind' for the Steward Denethor while soldiers march to battle
- Sip — Éowyn is told she cannot fight — 'I am no man' moment builds over multiple scenes
- Sip — Denethor ignores Gondor's defense and weeps over Faramir's unconscious body
- Drink Twice — The Army of the Dead rides into battle behind Aragorn at the Pelennor Fields
- Drink Twice — Shelob the giant spider attacks Frodo in the tunnel and Sam drives her off
- Drink Twice — Gollum and Sam's rivalry comes to a head as Gollum turns Frodo against Sam
- Shot — Éowyn removes her helmet before the Witch-king — 'I am no man' — and drives the blade home
- Shot — Gollum bites off Frodo's finger and falls into Mount Doom's fires with the One Ring
- Chug — Aragorn is crowned King of Gondor — he approaches the four hobbits who bow — 'You bow to no one'
Themed Cocktail
The Shire's End
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz aged rum
- 0.75 oz apple brandy
- 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 oz honey syrup
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 0.25 oz elderflower liqueur
Instructions:
- 1Combine rum, apple brandy, lemon juice, honey syrup, and bitters in a shaker with ice.
- 2Shake for 15 seconds and double-strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- 3Float elderflower liqueur gently over the back of a spoon — the Shire is peaceful on top.
- 4Garnish with a dehydrated apple slice and a small spray of dried lavender laid across the rim.
