The Grudge Drinking Game + Cocktail
The curse spreads to everyone who enters. So does this drinking game.
The Rules
- Sip — the Ju-On death rattle croaking sound plays on the soundtrack
- Sip — Kayako Saeki's jerky, broken-movement crawl appears on screen
- Sip — Toshio Saeki appears — silently staring — somewhere unexpected
- Sip — a character enters the cursed house on Toshio's old street in Tokyo
- Sip — Karen Davis calls out to an unresponsive or catatonic patient in the house
- Drink Twice — the curse shadow consumes a new victim who visited the Saeki house
- Drink Twice — Kayako Saeki's broken neck and hair are shown descending the stairs
- Drink Twice — a character hides under bed sheets and Kayako reaches through them
- Shot — Kayako's hand reaches out of Karen's head while Peter strangles her
- Shot — the curse passes to Karen and Kayako's face replaces hers in the mirror
- Chug — Kayako takes Doug at the end and Karen is found catatonic in the burning house
Themed Cocktail
Kayako's Croak
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz mezcal
- 0.75 oz Ramazzotti amaro
- 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 oz black sesame syrup
- 1 oz cold jasmine tea (brewed and chilled)
- 1 tsp activated charcoal syrup
Instructions:
- 1Combine mezcal, Ramazzotti, lemon juice, black sesame syrup, jasmine tea, and charcoal syrup in a shaker with ice.
- 2Shake hard for 12 seconds and strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- 3Do not stir — allow the layers to settle naturally into the glass.
- 4Garnish with a single white sesame seed floated on the surface.
