House M.D. Drinking Game + Cocktail

Share:

Everybody lies — including your glass when it says it's still half full.

The Rules

  • Sip — House pops a Vicodin from his orange pill bottle on screen
  • Sip — the team's first diagnosis is confidently wrong and they treat the patient for it
  • Sip — House insults Wilson with a perfectly accurate observation about his life
  • Sip — Cuddy tries to get House to attend a meeting and he disappears instead
  • Sip — a patient's environmental detail in the home is shown in a cold-open flash
  • Drink Twice — House walks into the patient's room without knocking or introducing himself
  • Drink Twice — the whiteboard differential is erased because House just thought of something
  • Drink Twice — Thirteen is the one who actually figures out the breakthrough clue
  • Shot — House solves the case mid-conversation about something completely unrelated
  • Shot — a team member is fired and rehired within the same 45-minute episode
  • Chug — House takes Vicodin to numb genuine emotional pain instead of physical pain

Themed Cocktail

The Differential

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz rye whiskey
  • 0.5 oz Islay Scotch (Laphroaig for smoke)
  • 0.25 oz simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 dash orange bitters
  • 1 orange peel

Instructions:

  1. 1Rinse a rocks glass with the Islay Scotch and discard the excess — just the smoke stays.
  2. 2Combine rye, simple syrup, and both bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
  3. 3Stir for 30 seconds and strain into the scotch-rinsed rocks glass over a large ice cube.
  4. 4Express the orange peel sharply over the top — the oils should coat the surface.
  5. 5Drop the peel in. Everybody lies. This drink does not.
