The Rules
- Sip — Eli recites scripture or scripture is quoted directly from the King James Bible
- Sip — Eli kills multiple attackers using only a machete or his hands without hesitation
- Sip — Carnegie sends his raiders to find any remaining books in the wasteland towns
- Sip — Water is treated as an extreme precious commodity in any transaction or scene
- Sip — Eli eats KFC wet wipes or canned food with methodical solitary routine
- Drink Twice — Solara witnesses Eli's prayers and asks to accompany him heading west
- Drink Twice — Carnegie tortures or threatens his own people to extract information about the book
- Drink Twice — Eli defeats an ambush using superhuman precision that foreshadows his blindness reveal
- Shot — Eli is revealed to have been blind the entire film — having memorized the full Bible
- Shot — Eli recites the complete King James Bible from memory to Lombardi on Alcatraz
- Chug — Carnegie finally gets the Braille Bible and realizes he cannot read Braille — it is useless to him
Themed Cocktail
The Book
Ingredients:
- 2 oz mezcal
- 0.5 oz dark rum
- 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
- 0.25 oz agave nectar
- 3 dashes smoked chili bitters
- 1 tsp black lava salt for rim
Instructions:
- 1Rim a rocks glass with black lava salt using a lime wedge.
- 2Combine mezcal, dark rum, lime juice, agave nectar, and smoked chili bitters in a shaker with ice.
- 3Shake hard for 15 seconds.
- 4Strain into the prepared rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- 5Garnish with a charred rosemary sprig laid across the ice.
