The Rules
- Sip — Harry Stamper and A.J. Frost argue about their father-daughter-boyfriend triangle
- Sip — The drillers complain about NASA protocol interfering with their rough-neck methods
- Sip — Grace Stamper cries or pleads with her father to come home safely
- Sip — NASA scientist Dan Truman has to explain asteroid physics to the drillers patiently
- Sip — Aerosmith's 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' plays or is referenced on the soundtrack
- Drink Twice — A crew member dies or is lost during the drilling operation on the asteroid
- Drink Twice — The secondary team on Freedom fires their nuclear weapon early by mistake
- Drink Twice — Colonel Sharp tries to override the drillers using military authority
- Shot — A.J. wins the coin flip and volunteers to stay behind so Harry doesn't have to
- Shot — Harry Stamper manually detonates the nuclear bomb inside the asteroid alone
- Chug — Harry tells A.J. he is now the daddy as he stays on the asteroid while A.J. leaves
Themed Cocktail
The Stamper Sacrifice
Ingredients:
- 2 oz bourbon
- 0.75 oz fresh peach juice
- 0.5 oz Amaretto
- 0.25 oz simple syrup
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 0.5 oz cold heavy cream for float
Instructions:
- 1Combine bourbon, peach juice, Amaretto, simple syrup, and bitters in a shaker with ice.
- 2Shake for 12 seconds.
- 3Strain into a rocks glass over a large clear ice cube.
- 4Float cold heavy cream over the back of a bar spoon on the surface.
- 5Garnish with a dusting of freshly grated nutmeg on the cream — honor the sacrifice.
