The Rules

  • Sip — Heathcliff broods at a window or on the moors
  • Sip — Catherine Earnshaw's ghost appears or is mentioned
  • Sip — Someone calls out 'Cathy!' across the moors
  • Sip — Thrushcross Grange is shown in exterior shot
  • Sip — The wind howls through Wuthering Heights manor
  • Drink Twice — Heathcliff declares 'I cannot live without my life'
  • Drink Twice — Characters climb to Penistone Crag
  • Drink Twice — The old servant Nelly Dean begins narrating
  • Shot — Catherine proclaims 'I am Heathcliff!'
  • Shot — Heathcliff digs up Catherine's grave
  • Chug — Catherine dies while Heathcliff pounds on the door

Themed Cocktail

The Yorkshire Moor

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz aged Scottish whisky
  • 0.75 oz sweet vermouth
  • 0.5 oz heather honey syrup
  • 0.25 oz allspice dram
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • 1 dash orange bitters
Instructions:
  1. 1Combine all ingredients in mixing glass
  2. 2Add ice and stir until well-chilled
  3. 3Strain into double rocks glass over large ice cube
  4. 4Express orange peel over drink and discard
