The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship Drinking Game + Cocktail
One ring to rule them all and one glass to fill them.
The Rules
- Sip — Gandalf says 'You shall not pass!' or any version of that line in any scene
- Sip — The Eye of Sauron appears on screen — atop Barad-dûr or in a palantír vision
- Sip — Sam Gamgee drops a line loyal, sincere, and heartbreaking about Mr. Frodo
- Sip — Frodo puts on the One Ring and the world shifts to the shadow realm around him
- Sip — Legolas pulls a move athletically impossible — jumping, riding, or climbing
- Drink Twice — The Fellowship is formally assembled at the Council of Elrond in Rivendell
- Drink Twice — Gollum appears — in shadow, in flesh, or in Frodo's vision of the ring's power
- Drink Twice — Boromir reaches toward the Ring or expresses his desire to use it for Gondor
- Shot — The Balrog appears in Moria — 'You cannot pass, I am a servant of the Secret Fire'
- Shot — Gandalf falls from the Bridge of Khazad-dûm into the darkness below
- Chug — Boromir dies from three orc arrows and Aragorn holds him — 'My captain, my king'
Themed Cocktail
The Prancing Pony Pint
Ingredients:
- 12 oz dark ale
- 0.5 oz honey syrup
- 0.25 oz apple cider vinegar
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 0.5 oz aged rum float
Instructions:
- 1Pour dark ale into a large pint glass or tankard, leaving an inch of space at the top.
- 2Add honey syrup, apple cider vinegar, and bitters and stir once gently.
- 3Float aged rum over the back of a spoon on the surface.
- 4Garnish with a lemon wedge squeezed and dropped into the glass and a sprig of fresh rosemary crossed over the rim.
