- Sip — whenever Captain Jack Aubrey plays his violin or references his fiddle
- Sip — whenever Dr. Maturin performs surgery on the ship without proper anesthesia
- Sip — whenever crew members mutter about Hollom being a Jonah cursing the ship
- Sip — whenever the Acheron is spotted and then lost in the fog
- Sip — whenever the ship's boy Blakeney is praised for bravery beyond his years
- Drink Twice — whenever Aubrey ignores Maturin's pleas and pushes the crew harder
- Drink Twice — whenever a crew member goes overboard or is lost at sea
- Drink Twice — whenever Aubrey toasts the King or the officers at the captain's table
- Shot — whenever the ship fires a full broadside cannon volley
- Shot — whenever Maturin performs a self-surgery scene on his own gunshot wound
- Chug — whenever the Surprise ambushes the Acheron under the Galapagos disguise
Themed Cocktail
Captain's Grog
Ingredients:
- 2 oz dark navy rum
- 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz demerara syrup
- 4 oz hot water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 whole cloves
Instructions:
- 1Muddle cinnamon stick and cloves briefly in the bottom of your mug.
- 2Add rum, lime juice, and demerara syrup.
- 3Pour in hot water and stir well to combine.
- 4Allow to steep for 2 minutes before drinking.
- 5Remove cloves before serving.
