The Carbon Freeze

Ingredients

• 2 oz bourbon
• 0.75 oz cold brew coffee liqueur
• 0.5 oz Demerara syrup
• 0.25 oz Fernet-Branca
• 3 dashes Angostura bitters
• 1 large clear ice block (for serving)

Instructions

1. 1Freeze a Han Solo shape in an ice mold 24 hours ahead if available — otherwise use a large clear cube
2. 2Combine bourbon, cold brew liqueur, Demerara syrup, Fernet-Branca, and bitters in a mixing glass
3. 3Stir for 45 seconds until well diluted and cold
4. 4Strain over the large clear ice in a rocks glass
5. 5Garnish with a single expressed orange peel — then let the dark, heavy drink sit in its stillness
