Ingredients

• 2 oz aged dark rum
• 0.75 oz blood orange juice
• 0.5 oz Averna amaro
• 0.25 oz simple syrup
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• 1 tsp maraschino cherry juice

Instructions

1. 1Combine rum, blood orange juice, amaro, simple syrup, and bitters in a mixing glass with ice.
2. 2Stir for 30 seconds until well chilled.
3. 3Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
4. 4Add maraschino cherry juice without stirring to create a dark layer at the bottom.
5. 5Garnish with a single maraschino cherry on the rim — no fruit on a toothpick, Lefty would disapprove.
