The Monterey Merlot Mule

Ingredients

• 1.5 oz red wine reduction (simmered merlot)
• 1.5 oz bourbon
• 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
• 0.5 oz simple syrup
• 3 oz ginger beer

Instructions

1. 1Make red wine reduction by simmering merlot until halved, then cool.
2. 2Combine reduction, bourbon, lime juice, and simple syrup in a shaker with ice.
3. 3Shake for 10 seconds and strain into a copper mug over ice.
4. 4Top with ginger beer.
5. 5Stir once and serve with a knowing glance.
